As a physician assistant in a local family practice clinic, I understand the importance of community well-being. My previous experience as a social worker, supporting children and families facing adversity, has instilled in me a deep commitment to accessible resources and community support. My relationship with the library is lifelong; from my childhood discovery of Spot and Shel Silverstein, to its invaluable role as a study space during my adult education, and now as a place where my children have flourished through story time and crafts. The library has been a constant in my life, a place of learning, connection, and friendship, and I'm eager to serve as a trustee to ensure it remains a vital resource for our community.
I'm passionate about preserving our libraries as vital community hubs, where everyone can gather, learn, and connect without financial barriers. I am committed to raising funds and increasing awareness of the amazing resources our libraries offer.
I recognize the challenges our libraries face, including funding cuts and legislative changes that unnecessarily threaten librarians and complicate their essential work. If elected as a trustee, I will advocate for sustainable funding, protect the integrity of library services, and ensure our libraries remain safe and welcoming spaces for all.
